Practical Money Skills is a free, award-winning financial literacy program. Created by Visa Inc., the program provides money management resources including articles, games and lesson plans tailored for use by families and educators. As part of the program, Visa also works with state and national governments to co-sponsor community-based events such as statewide Financial Football rollouts and co-hosts an annual Financial Literacy Summit with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
Visa’s innovative efforts have earned coverage from media outlets including CNBC, CNN, The Financial Times, Fox News, The New York Times, The Today Show, TIME, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post. Stories have also been featured in global outlets, including Brazil’s Diário do Comércio, Mexico’s TV Azteca and Canada’s National Post, among many others. Visa features a weekly personal finance column, which runs in over 500 community papers throughout the U.S. in both Spanish and English. A Canadian version of the series also runs in community newspapers in English and French Canadian.
